What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. Instead of just talking about the problem, EMDR helps the brain process and release painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.
During EMDR, you’ll be gently guided to focus on a troubling memory while using bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds—which helps your brain “reprocess” the experience in a new, healthier way. Over time, the memory loses its emotional charge, and you begin to feel more at ease, empowered, and in control.
Many people find EMDR especially helpful for issues like PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, grief, or feeling stuck after difficult events.
When should you go to Relationship Therapy?
Many people wonder when the right time is to seek couples or relationship counselling. Relationship therapy can support romantic partners in a variety of ways. It can help you reconnect, navigate broken trust or infidelity, and have difficult but necessary conversations. Therapy also offers tools to improve communication, regulate emotions, and resolve conflict more effectively. In addition, it can foster growth in emotional, physical, and sexual intimacy—helping partners strengthen and deepen their connection. Relationship therapy is available for couples and individuals in consensual non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships.
What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy that focuses on concerns related to sexuality, sexual function, and intimacy. It provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore topics such as desire discrepancies, sexual pain, performance anxiety, difficulties with arousal or orgasm, and the impact of trauma on sexuality. Sex therapy can also support individuals and people in relationships in improving communication around sex, deepening intimacy, and understanding their sexual identities or preferences. Whether you're navigating challenges or simply looking to enhance your sexual well-being, sex therapy offers informed, compassionate support.
